Community Energy

Glas Energy are experts at delivering community energy projects. Together with our not for profit partner, DaysE – Donate as you save Energy, we have installed community energy projects in 14 communities / facilities. These have ranged from Solar PV to biomass heating and most had grant aid support through the Sustainable Authority of Ireland’s Better Energy Community programme.

At Glas we are aware of the specific funding challenges which communities face.  Together with DaysE, we work with community energy projects to source low interest loans or grant funding and we offer a fully financed ESCo (Energy Supply Company) solution. With the ESCo model, the community does not have to source capital to finance the energy project but instead benefits from reduced energy costs for the lifetime of the project.
